Jim Duber's Online Portfolio

NOTE: This is an old, archived version of my portfolio.
A newer Online Portfolio is also available.

I have been working in educational multimedia since 1991. The following are brief descriptions of some of the projects that I have been involved with since then. You'll find working demos of CALL software that I created, as well as screen shots from a few CD-ROM projects that I have worked on. There is a selection of reviews and articles that I have published online in addition to a list of websites that I have designed and/or helped administer. And there are a few demos of Shockwave, the cutting-edge plug-in that brings a new level of interactivity to the Web.

I am currently available for new projects, and hope you'll contact me for your next new media production and training needs. For the latest information on my work, please refer to my company site at duber dot com, and to the duber dot com portfolio page in particular.

Screen Shots from CD-ROM Projects

(From: "Guerrilla Marketing")
I was an interactive writer with CO/OP Media, who along with Houghton Mifflin Interactive, and Vertigo Development Group partnered to create the Guerrilla Marketing CD-ROM, a consumer title based on the series of best-selling books by Jay Conrad Levinson. The Guerrilla Marketing CD-ROM combines solid information about marketing with inspirational advice and examples to teach small business owners about Jay's most important marketing "weapons".

(From: "The Adventure Kids")
I was a writer and programmer on this project developed by CO/OP Media. Designed to introduce pre-schoolers to reading, writing and math, this product features two spirited characters who help to gather and share information, make choices, and experience the ensuing results as the adventure unfolds.

(From: "Grandma June's Ladybugs")
Another CO/OP Media production, this collection of interactive stories stimulates a child's imagination and provides a creative forum for learning. I worked as a programmer and interactive designer on this project.

(From: "Medical HouseCall")
I was project manager, writer, and programmer on the tutorial produced for this American Medical Informatics CD-ROM. In the tutorial, simulations and animated characters take the user on a tour through the extensive medical diagnostic tools of this home reference product.

Web-Based Software Demos

As a member of both Netscape's Developers' Program, and Macromedia's Shockwave Beta Development community, I was able to take part in the early testing and debugging of Shockwave, Navigator 2.0, and other plug-ins. Look for frequent additions to this area of my portfolio.
